Team Challenge!

 This afternoon, students were challenged to create the tallest freestanding structure possible using only four pieces of recycled paper, scissors and glue. What teamwork! Well done!

 Here's what we'll be working on this week:

Mathématiques: working with multiples, explaining our mathematical thinking

Français: daily reading, responding to texts, practicing verbs

English Language Arts: daily reading, exploring genres, practicing critical thinking, Think Quick,

Sciences de la nature: classifying objects using dichotomous keys

Sciences Humaines: discussing and representing personal identity

Also this week: participating in Truth & Reconciliation Week through guided discussions and videos.

Class Library!

 As a class, we came up with five rules for our classroom library.

Students have signed their page to show that they are ready to follow the rules. Parents are also asked to sign.

Once students have handed in their signed page, they may start borrowing books from the Classroom Library.

 For today's challenge, 

students had to work together, using all the pieces to form six squares of equal size.

 Today's team challenge involved working together to keep a balloon in the air as long as possible!

 In Social Studies today we discussed Rights and Responsibilities.

For example, you have the right to be respected and the responsibility to respect others.

 As we know, reading every day is the best way for children to become independent readers. Scholastic Reading Club makes it easy to find the right books.

What to do:

Photo Day has been cancelled for September 14th and rescheduled to October 3!

What's in a Name?

 On Friday, students should be prepared to tell the class the story of their name! 

Remember students: it could be how you got your name, what your name means, or who you are named for. 

You could talk about your first name, your middle name or your last name.
